On-Premise Phone Systems

What is an On-Premise PBX phone system?

On-PremiseĀ PBX is also known as an IP PBX phone system. It is similar to a traditional PBX system that is installed at your location, much like computer equipment. The main difference is that IP routing is done today with state-of-the-art technology. The signaling for PBX is done with an IP phone to the IP PBX server using a local area network. Your calls go through a traditional phone company as well as voice over internet (VoIP) using a technology called SIP trunking. Gateways are setup to connect the system to a traditional phone company provider. These types of systems offer many features that VoIP offers and much more.

What type of businesses choose IP PBX phone systems?

On-premise phone systems are typically installed in educational institutions, large businesses, hospitals, car dealerships and any other business that has several users on the system.
